Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a hearing test?

If you're finding it harder to follow conversations, turning the TV up louder than usual, or asking people to repeat themselves, it’s a good idea to book a hearing test. Hearing loss can come on gradually, so regular checks help you stay ahead of any changes.

How long does a hearing test take?

A full hearing assessment usually takes around 60-75 minutes. This gives us time to understand your hearing concerns, carry out the test, and explain the results and any next steps clearly.

What happens during a hearing test?

We’ll start by asking a few questions about your hearing and general health. Then we’ll check your ears and carry out a series of simple, painless tests to assess how well you're hearing. We’ll explain the results clearly and answer any questions you have.

Do you offer home visits?

Yes, we do. If you’re unable to travel to one of our clinics, our team can come to you at home for hearing tests, wax removal, and even hearing aid fittings. It’s the same professional service, just in the comfort of your own surroundings.

Can I try hearing aids before I buy them?

Yes. We believe it’s important to make sure hearing aids are right for you, so we offer a no-obligation trial period. You can wear them in real-life settings and see how they feel before making a decision.

How do I know if I have ear wax build-up?

Common signs include muffled hearing, a blocked feeling in the ears, discomfort, or ringing sounds (tinnitus). If you're unsure, we can take a quick look and let you know if wax removal is needed.

Do you see children for hearing tests or wax removal?

No, we currently only see adults aged 18 and over.

What if I already wear hearing aids?

No problem, whether your current aids were fitted elsewhere or you're due for an upgrade, we're happy to help. We can offer second opinions, adjustments, servicing, and advice.

Will I need to wear hearing aids in both ears?

It depends on your hearing test results. If both ears have hearing loss, using aids in both ears often gives better clarity and balance. We’ll explain your results and help you decide what’s best.

What brands of hearing aids do you offer?

We work with leading hearing aid manufacturers including Starkey, Oticon, and Widex, offering high-quality, discreet, and innovative solutions with features like Bluetooth, rechargeability, and personalised sound settings.
